Jessica Veroline, LICSW, is a therapist at Emerald Heart Counseling. She specializes in providing EMDR therapy for adults who have experienced birth and medical trauma.   

Jessica offers in-person therapy in South Kingstown & Wakefield, Rhode Island, and telehealth for clients located in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. 

EMDR is an evidence‑based and effective treatment for trauma. It helps the brain process distressing experiences, so they may no longer trigger overwhelming emotional or physiological responses.

Sessions include: 

• Assessment and treatment planning
• Resourcing and stabilization
• EMDR reprocessing 
• Integration and future-oriented work 

Equine‑Assisted EMDR therapy combines EMDR therapy protocols with equine‑assisted interventions to support grounding, emotional regulation, and somatic awareness.  

At Emerald Heart Counseling, adults work with Jessica Veroline, LICSW, and her horse, Joe in an outdoor setting in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. 

For many individuals, being outdoors and in the presence of a horse may create a sense of calm, safety, and connection that supports deeper therapeutic work.

No riding or prior horse experience is needed — just openness and curiosity.

Equine-Assisted EMDR therapy is available for calming and resource skills (phase 2 of treatment) for individuals already working with and EMDR therapist. 

Insurance Notice: I am currently in-network with the following health insurances: UnitedHealthcare, Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island for office-based and virtual therapy. 

My practice will be making changes to insurance participation beginning January 1, 2027. More information will be available as that date approaches. 

Equine-assisted EMDR therapy is a private-pay service and is not covered by insurance. The cost is $200 per one-hour session.
